Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) recently recognized Golden State Foods and the GSF Foundation for their continued support at the 2011 RMHC International Conference on August 9-12 in Chicago. Jim Skinner, CEO McDonald’s Corporation, presented an award to Chuck Brown, Executive Director, GSF Foundation and Terry Wilson, Corporate Vice President, McDonald’s Distribution.

“It was exciting to see the wonderful work RMHC does around the world and to know we are a part of it,” said Chuck. “A key takeaway was the emphasis on providing the biggest currency of all when a child is sick – time. We are proud to be partnered with such a strong and meaningful organization.”

GSF associates and Foundation volunteers are actively involved with supporting RMHC. Seventy-six percent of GSF associates participate in the payroll deduction program to benefit RMHC and as much as $600,000 is donated by GSF annually to U.S. Ronald Houses. As many as 4,300 volunteer hours are donated to the RMHC by GSF associates annually.

The RMHC ‘global system’ comes together every two years to rally around its common mission of creating, finding and supporting programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children.
