Associate Selfies Raise Funds in GSF Wellness Program “Connect with Community” Challenge

In late 2021, GSF associates snapped selfies while volunteering more than 500 hours serving their communities and submitted more than 30 shots of their volunteerism in action to raise nearly $6,000 in total funds for their local GSF Foundation (GSFF) committees. Part of GSF’s series of quarterly Wellness Program challenges, associates showed their GSFF pride by wearing a Foundation shirt, hat, or pin in their community or during a GSFF activity.

“How inspiring to see our dedicated associate volunteers out in the communities where we live and work, giving back and earning more funding for the local Foundation programs that they choose and organize to support their neighbors in need,” said Tess McAnena, GSF Foundation Executive Director. “Giving our time, talent, and treasure together truly lifts our own spirits and benefits our own wellness, just as much as it helps the children and families who need the uplifting support that we provide through the GSF Foundation.”

Encouraging associates to “Connect with Community,” the GSF Wellness Program challenge offered GSFF contributions of $10 for each hour of volunteer service donated (up to four hours per associate), as well as $5 per associate for photo submissions. The GSF Wellness Program launched in late 2020 with the “Love Your Selfie” mental health challenge, followed by the “Let’s Get Physical” and “Commit to be Fit” physical health contests in 2021. Themed “Go for the Gold,” this voluntary program supports associates in taking care of their overall wellness.
