Anticipating a momentous milestone year ahead, the GSF Foundation (GSFF) will soon launch its 2022 Associate Campaign, themed, “Cheers to 20 Years!”As associates kick off the anniversary-inspired celebration on September 1, local committees across the U.S. will host festive activities to recognize past, present, and future associate contributions of time, talent, treasure, and tradition.
“We have so much to celebrate today because of the GSF Foundation traditions and the legacy of philanthropy that our caring, generous associates have created over the past two decades,” said Carol Fawcett, 2022 Associate Campaign Chair andGSF Corporate Vice President and Chief Information Officer.“Associates have made the Foundation’s 20-year anniversary possible, and we recognize their commitment to the Creed and Values through their Foundation involvement and the positive impact associates continue to make in the communities where we all work and live.”
In 2002, Golden State Foods associates established the company’s nonprofit for the purpose of improving the lives of children and families in need within their local communities. Since inception, the associate-run-and-funded nonprofit has raised nearly $60 million, donated over 282,000 volunteer service hours, and supported more than 600 nonprofits and schools.
A volunteer-run organization, GSFF puts 100 percent of associate donations directly into helping vulnerable community members by providing families with essentials like food and clothing, as well as children with backpacks and bikes. Cultivating traditional, core programs over the past 20 years, associates have collectively donated millions of meals to food-insecure families, 144,000 backpacks filled with school supplies, over 25,000 pairs of shoes to elementary school children, and 8,000 bikes to kids in need.
Through local Foundation committees, associates give back together by nominating charities in their communities, volunteering their time, and making their own contributions. Local committees will soon announce dates and times for their 2022 Associate Campaign meetings next month, when associates will learn about how to get involved and make a difference during the anniversary year ahead.
